I cut the controller off and wired them right up to an ESP8266 chip. They run on 5v so a cell phone charger will power the entire thing if you use a Wemos D1 Mini.

Bought for my behavior/trauma classroom and my 13yo daughter stole them! Had to order another. Various colors and modes allows for different mood situations and calming affects. Daughter’s set has a mode that I can’t seem to find on classroom set, hense the lower score in easy to use category. I’m old and need a list of modes/functions and how to access. The kids seem to do this fairly well. Would order again, obviously.

A friend referred this to me for burning man this year and I absolutely love it. Way brighter than I thought (no dark-wad here) and the modes make them look almost like addressable led lights. Best part is that the wires are protected by the coating so they won’t break as easily as normal led strings. Didnt try the timer function. Definitely getting another couple sets!

I originally bought these to be Christmas lights around my garage door, but since there are so many color options, I have changed the color for each holiday (Valentine’s Day, Easter, etc.) The lights are bright, but not so bright that they assault your eyes. The app is easy to use (I already had it set up from some other smart home stuff). I wish I could get an even longer strand so I could do the front of my house!

This is our second set. We bought a second just to get a replacement remote that the dog ate from the first set. Without the remote they can still be used but there are less options for patterns and colors.
